Mangalorean Green Fish Curry - Chrysl

Recipe by Chrysl Castelino 

Ingredients:
1 kg fish (pomfret or king fish)
1 potato *(Optional)
1 onion (fried till golden)
1 cup thick coconut milk

To grind:

To first powder:
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
1/2 tsp pepper corns

Grind with the above powdered ingredients: 
1/2" ginger
3-4 cloves garlic
1-2 green chillis 
1 cup coriander leaves
2 tbsp grated coconut
1/2 medium onion
marble size tamarind

Steps:
  1. Grind the masala and set aside. 
  2. Fry an onion till golden. Set aside. 
  3. In a vessel, heat oil.
  4. Add the ground masala and fry well. 
  5. Add water and bring to a boil. 
  6. Add the fish and cook. Add the potatoes now if desired. 
  7. Add salt to taste.
  8. Add the thick coconut milk. Bring to a boil.
  9. Garnish with fried onion.
